The School for Graduate Studies and Research invites corporate leaders and professionals to a two-day virtual workshop, “Harnessing AI for Workplace Productivity,” featuring live interactive sessions via Zoom. The workshop will take place on July 3rd and 4th from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM (EC/AST) and on July 17th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon (EC/AST).
This immersive experience is designed to equip participants with the practical skills and tools needed to harness the power of AI, automate tasks and enhance decision-making and communication in the workplace.

Facilitators
Dr. Letetia Addison
Dr. Letetia Addison holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from The UWI and has over a decade of experience lecturing in quantitative disciplines. A Senior Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy and 2024 UWI/Guardian Premium Teaching Award recipient, she leads data-driven projects in AI, climate resilience, and sustainable development. Her team won the COP29 Global AI Innovation Challenge in 2024 for an AI-powered climate platform for SIDS. Dr. Addison also advises on data science literacy and education transformation. In this course, she shares practical insights on how data and AI are reshaping the workplace and leadership.
Dr. Craig Ramlal
Dr. Craig Ramlal is Head of the Control Systems Group and Principal Investigator of the Intelligent Systems Laboratory at The UWI, St. Augustine. Recognized in 2023 as a global AI expert by the UN, he contributed to the Global Digital Compact adopted in 2024. He advises CARICOM, CXC, CTU, and IEEE on AI ethics and policy. He developed UWI’s postgraduate degrees in AI and founded the Institute for Intelligent Systems, Governance and Human-Centred Technology. His global collaborations span robotics, AI diagnostics, and smart systems. Dr. Ramlal holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering with research in AI and control systems.
Dr. Kris Manohar
Kris is a dedicated educator and researcher, who holds a PhD and M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of the West Indies. Since 2010, he has been a valuable member of the Department of Computing and Information Technology (DCIT). Kris actively engages in teaching various computer science and mathematics courses while contributing to national and international contests, training camps, and conferences. Noteworthy events include ACM-ICPC national contests, AMC-ICPC training camps, and the Open Data conference. Kris specialises in information hiding, steganography, data compression, and image processing. His commitment extends to fostering student development.
Mr. Marc Garcia
Marc Garcia is a Research Officer at the Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL), The UWI St. Augustine. He holds a MSc from The UWI and specializes in research design, data analysis and educational technology, with a focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in academic and workplace contexts. Marc leads projects that support institutional reporting and faculty development and is currently researching student use of AI in higher education. He also hosts the CETL’s PodClass podcast, where he explores emerging educational technologies and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. His experience offers practical insights on using AI to improve productivity and support data-informed decision-making.
