 The UWI St. Augustine Campus is pleased to announce the launch of its After-School Care Service, offering a safe, affordable and convenient childcare option for children between the ages of 4 and 12 years old.

This service is available to UWI St. Augustine staff with special emphasis on ATSS, ASAP, Daily Paid, and Estate Police.

The service runs Monday to Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and is located at The UWI Child Learning and Discovery Facility (formerly the Evening University Building), next to Canada Hall and opposite the JFK Student Car Park.

Monthly Cost: TT$300.00

1. Who is eligible to register their child for this programme?

The UWI After-School Care service is designed for UWI St. Augustine staff, with special emphasis on ATSS, ASAP, Daily Paid employees, and Estate Police.

The cost is $300 per month.

6. What kind of care and activities will be provided?

At launch, the service will focus on basic supervision in a safe, nurturing environment. Over time, we plan to introduce homework support and extracurricular activities to further enrich the children’s experience.

7. How many children will the service cater for?

To maintain high-quality care and personalised attention, we will accept approximately 30 children. This limit ensures a safe and manageable environment for both staff and children.

8. How will children be selected for the programme?

Given the limited capacity, a selection process will be used to prioritise families based on the identified staff categories, age requirements, and other criteria to ensure equitable access

9. Will there be future expansion of the service?

While our initial focus is on supervision, we hope to gradually expand to include educational and recreational components based on demand and available resources.

10. Where is The UWI After-School Care Centre located?

The UWI St. Augustine After-School Care Centre is conveniently located next to Canada Hall of Residence, directly opposite the JFK Student Car Park, ensuring easy access for parents and guardians.

11. When will I know the status of my application?

Applications will be reviewed after the registration period closes. If your application is successful, you will receive instructions to make the first month’s payment. Payment confirms your child’s placement in the programme.
