The Confucius Institute at The UWI St Augustine, in collaboration with the Centre for Language Learning, Faculty of Humanities and Education, invites the campus community and wider public to join the celebration of Confucius Institute Day 2025. The event takes place on Friday 19 September 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the JFK Auditorium.

Globally recognised on September 27, Confucius Institute Day is a time when Institutes around the world showcase China’s rich cultural heritage and the value of international exchange. This year’s celebration at St Augustine promises an engaging afternoon of performances, interactive activities and cultural showcases.

Highlights of the Day

-          Chinese Arts Experience: Paper cutting, origami, tea art, Hanfu fashion display and try-on, Chinese architecture art

-          Fun Sports & Games: Gomoku chess, shuttlecock competition, sandbag toss, chopstick balance challenges

-          Chinese Language Tasters: Zodiac signs roulette, calligraphy, character evolution identity, solar terms game

-          Travel & Kung Fu: Lion dancing, Tai Chi, Beijing opera mask guessing, China heritage photo displays

-          Food & Drink: Moon Festival traditions, mooncake tasting, Chinese tea sampling
