Posted Thursday, October 16, 2025

Dear Colleagues,

On Thursday 23, Friday 24, and Saturday 25 October the St Augustine Campus will host its Annual Graduation Ceremonies. This year's ceremonies will be held at our Sport and Physical Education Centre (UWISPEC) with two ceremonies being held each day, at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Due to the expected increase in vehicular and pedestrian traffic on and around the campus, the following traffic and parking restrictions will be enforced over the three days of graduation. All persons traversing the campus are asked to heed the guidance of our Campus Security personnel, who will remain stationed across the campus to guide and assist as needed.

General Parking on Campus

-The JFK East and West car parks, on the southern side of the campus, and the Heart Ease car park, on the eastern side of the campus, will be reserved for use, as a result, staff and students will not be allowed to park in these car parks for the period stated above

-Parking for staff and students will be facilitated at the TGR North and South car parks, these are located on the western side of the campus. A regular shuttle service will be maintained to and from these car parks

-Staff parking at all other designated staff car parks remain unaffected

-The Student Shuttle Service will continue to operate as per usual

Parking for Graduation Attendees

-Parking for graduation attendees will be available at the JFK East and West, Heart Ease, Carmody Road and TLC North car parks

-Red band maxis will be available to shuttle guests to and from the designated car parks and the graduation venue

Traffic Restrictions

-To facilitate the smooth flow of vehicular traffic in and around the graduation venue, a section of the St Augustine Circular Road, which runs in front of SPEC, will be closed. The Circular Road from its intersection with Carmody Road to the West and with Pasea Road to the East, will be closed to vehicular traffic from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. for the period stated above

-During this stated time frame, all vehicular traffic in this area will be re-routed along Pasea and Carmody Roads

-All persons residing within this area have been issued with Resident Parking Permits and will be allowed access to their homes

-The campus's No Thoroughfare Policy will be relaxed for the three days of graduation

-No parking will be permitted along the roadway or on grassy areas on Graduation days. Vehicles found in violation will be subject to clamping

-The on-campus speed limit of 30 kilometers per hour continues to be enforced

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by these arrangements, and thank you in advance for your cooperation.
