Ready to take your teaching to the next level and make it count as scholarship?
The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) is a powerful approach that bridges teaching, learning, and research. It transforms your classroom into a site of inquiry — where you systematically explore questions about student learning, evaluate evidence, and share findings with the academic community.
This workshop will introduce you to conducting research in your classroom and disseminating your findings publicly, moving your practice beyond "pedagogical solitude" join a community of educators who make teaching a scholarly pursuit.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
Explain SoTL and its benefits for individual, departmental, and institutional development
Distinguish between scholarly teaching and SoTL inquiry
Examine the stages of a typical SoTL project
Design a preliminary action plan for initiating a SoTL investigation in your teaching context
Identify potential journals for disseminating SoTL output
Dates: November 12th 2025
