The Schools of Education at The University of the West Indies invite students, faculty, researchers, policymakers and education professionals to submit abstracts for the 2026 Schools of Education Biennial Conference, to be hosted by the St. Augustine Campus.
This biennial conference focuses on issues of critical importance to education in the Caribbean and beyond. The 2026 theme, Learning Futures: Education for Multilateralism and Sustainability, explores how education can respond to and shape global challenges such as post-pandemic recovery, technological transformation, climate vulnerability, migration, and equity.
The conference calls for scholarly and practice-based contributions that link theory to action and reimagine education as a force for inclusive, just, and sustainable futures. Submissions are welcomed across a wide range of areas, including but not limited to:
- Harnessing AI: Advancing SDG4 and Beyond
- Equity, Access, and Lifelong Learning
- Well-being, Social-Emotional Learning, and Teacher Professional Life
- Education for Sustainable Transitions
- Language, Culture, and Identity in Education
- Literacies for the 21st Century
- Curriculum Change and Innovation
- Education Policy and Leadership
- Assessment, Measurement, and Accountability
- Emerging and Cross-Cutting Issues in Educational Research and Innovation
Presentation Formats
- Participants may submit proposals for:
- Paper presentations
- Panel presentations
- Poster presentations
- Workshops
- Research-in-Progress (PhD students)
Submission Guidelines
- Abstracts must be 200–250 words (workshops: up to 400 words)
- Submissions must include a title page with author details, presentation strand, and format
- Accepted file types: PDF, Word, or OpenOffice

- Selected papers may be invited for publication in a Special Issue of Caribbean Curriculum
Submission Deadline: January 31, 2026
Receipt of submissions will be acknowledged within 48 hours. Contributors are reminded that a maximum of two submissions per lead author is permitted.
