CETL Workshop - Designing and Aligning Effective Learning Outcomes

Join CETL for a face-to-face workshop from 9:30 a.m. on May 21 or June 10, 2026 on crafting clear, measurable learning outcomes and aligning them with teaching activities and assessments.

This interactive workshop will explore the purpose and value of learning outcomes in effective teaching and learning. Participants will examine the characteristics of strong learning outcomes, consider strategies for aligning outcomes with instructional activities and assessments and practise critiquing and developing outcomes using specific criteria.

Workshop Learning Outcomes

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

-          examine the history and value of learning outcomes for effective teaching and learning

-          identify the characteristics of effective learning outcomes

-          explore strategies for aligning learning outcomes with instructional activities and assessments

-          evaluate learning outcomes using specific criteria

Two face-to-face sessions will be offered, allowing participants to register for the date that best suits their schedule.
