Students, staff and alumni are invited to support the 29th Annual American Foundation for The UWI Gala, “The Legacy Continues,” which takes place on April 17, 2026, in New York City.

As the event approaches, the entire UWI family is being encouraged to come together in support of a cause that reflects the University’s enduring legacy. Proceeds from the Gala will go directly towards scholarships for talented and ambitious students facing financial challenges, helping to expand access to higher education and create lasting opportunity.

The UWI community is encouraged to play a part by:

-          attending the Gala or making a contribution

-          sharing the invitation across alumni and professional networks

-          amplifying AFUWI’s efforts within their circles in support of UWI’s mission

Every act of support helps to strengthen UWI’s tradition of excellence, service and nation-building, while opening doors for future generations of students across the region.

The American Foundation for The University of the West Indies (AFUWI) is a U.S.-based non-profit organisation dedicated to advancing higher education in the Caribbean through fundraising for scholarships and institutional development at The University of the West Indies. Over the years, AFUWI has played a significant role in transforming student aspirations into achievement, helping to strengthen communities and nations across the region and beyond.
