The Department of Economics, The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus, invites submissions for the Annual Conference on the Economy (COTE 2026), which will be held on November 12–13, 2026 at the Learning Resource Centre Auditorium (LRC), UWI St. Augustine Campus, Trinidad. The conference will be hosted in hybrid format, allowing both in-person and virtual participation under the theme “Exploring New Opportunities for the Blue, Green and Orange Economy in the Caribbean and SIDS for Sustainable Development”
Conference presentations will be organised around the following subthemes:
- Geopolitical and Economic Shifts
- Environmental and Climate Challenges
- Social and Demographic Trends
- The Blue Economy: Where did the Buccoo go?
- The Green Economy: What’s your Footprint?
- The Orange Economy: The Multiplier of Machel
Abstract Submission Guidelines
Abstracts must:
- Be submitted in English
- Include the title of the paper
- Be limited to 200 words
- Indicate the conference theme/subtheme under which the paper is being submitted
- Include the relevant JEL codes classification
- List the names of all authors and the contact information for the lead author
All abstracts and papers should be submitted to STA-COTE@uwi.edu.
Important Deadlines
- Abstract submission deadline: July 31, 2026
- Completed conference paper submission deadline: October 26, 2026
- Presentation submission deadline: November 2, 2026
