The Health and Wellness Committee is inviting researchers at The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus who have conducted surveys or research on student mental health and treatment-related issues to contact its members.

The Committee is seeking to better understand students’ knowledge, attitudes and perceptions regarding their mental health and mental health issues generally. It is also interested in exploring students’ awareness of the availability and accessibility of mental health support services at the St. Augustine Campus, as well as their willingness to use these services and any barriers that may prevent access.

Recognising that important work may already have been done in this area, the Committee would like to review and learn from previous research projects to help inform its understanding of the current situation and guide future action.

Researchers who have carried out studies on mental health issues affecting students at UWI St. Augustine are kindly asked to contact STA-Counsellor@sta.uwi.edu or shivan.mahabir@uwi.edu
