Call for Abstracts: FORECAST Conference 2026

The Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) invites interested persons to submit abstracts for the third Frontiers of Research in Caribbean Science and Technology (FORECAST) Conference, which will be held on August 20–21, 2026 at The UWI St. Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago.

Under the theme “Science and Innovation for a Sustainable Caribbean,” this hybrid conference will bring together researchers, academics, and innovators from across the region to share work that addresses some of the Caribbean’s most pressing challenges and opportunities. Participants may submit for either a poster or oral presentation.

FORECAST 2026 is a collaborative initiative involving the Faculties of Science and Technology of The UWI campuses—St. Augustine, Mona, Cave Hill, and Five Islands—along with the University of Technology, Jamaica (UTECH), the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT), the University of the Southern Caribbean (USC), Trinidad and Tobago and the University of Guyana (UG).

Conference themes include:

-          Life Sciences at the Nexus of Sustainable Health, Environment, and Food Security

-          Chemistry for Sustainable Development and Environmental Stewardship

-          Applied Physics and Emerging Technologies in Small Island States

-          Applied Mathematics and Solutions for Real-World Problems

-          From Code to Impact: Computing for Regional Development

-          Geographic Perspectives, Climate Change Effects, Mitigation, and Adaptation

-          Converging Science and Integrating STEM for a Sustainable Caribbean

Abstract submissions are due by June 8, 2026 and should be submitted via the official portal which can be accessed here
