The UWI Latin American-Caribbean Centre (LACC) invites UWI faculty to participate in the Hemispheric University Consortium (HUC) Virtual Research Internships Programme 2026.

The UWI is a member of the HUC, and this initiative offers lecturers and researchers the opportunity to host international undergraduate and graduate students within their ongoing research projects. The programme is designed to strengthen collaboration across the Americas while supporting student research development.

Through this fully virtual programme, selected professors will supervise short-term research internships lasting 8 to 12 weeks. Students will gain hands-on research experience while contributing to UWI-led projects across a range of disciplines.

The opportunity is open to UWI professors at the full, associate and assistant levels. Research projects may align with HUC priority areas, including:

-          Public Health and Well-being

-          Climate Change and Sustainability

-          Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship

-          Governance and Society

-          Education Technology

Important Dates

-          Call for Professors: June 4 to June 25, 2026

-          Evaluation Period: June 26 to July 5, 2026

-          Student Internships Begin: September 2026
