The Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) is pleased to invite you to register for the Research Supervisor Development Course (RSDC), a free online professional development opportunity designed to support the development of knowledge and skills for effective research supervision. The course is open to faculty and staff across The University of the West Indies. Interested colleagues are invited to register and take advantage of this opportunity to strengthen their knowledge and practice of research supervision. As spaces are limited, interested colleagues are encouraged to register early.
The course combines flexible, self-paced learning with opportunities for interaction and engagement. Participants will work through the course modules at their own pace and engage with peers through the discussion forums. The revised course also incorporates bi-weekly live check-in sessions, which will provide opportunities to ask questions, discuss key topics, and share experiences. Panel discussions and guest presentations may also be hosted during the course to facilitate further engagement and knowledge sharing.
The course will run from November 9, 2026, to February 26, 2027, and will be accessible through the Moodle Training Space. Participants are encouraged to dedicate approximately 3–4 hours per week to engaging with the course materials, participating in learning activities, and completing the required assessments within the course period.
Participants who successfully complete all required modules and assessments will be awarded an e-badge in recognition of their achievement.
We invite interested colleagues to register and take advantage of this opportunity to strengthen their research supervision knowledge and practice.
