ST. AUGUSTINE, Trinidad and Tobago – The Faculty of Medical Sciences (FMS) at The University of the West Indies (UWI) St. Augustine, invites the health sector to a two-day conference entitled “Improvement in Health Care Quality and Delivery: Making a Difference” on January 18 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel and January 19 at the Learning Resource Centre, UWI, St. Augustine Campus.
Keynote speakers for the conference are Sir Andrew Cash OBE, Chair of the National Health Service Employer’s Policy Board, UK; Renee-Marie Stephano, President, World Medical Tourism and Global Healthcare Congress; Michael Bradshaw, CEO of the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago; Rachel Cutting, Senior Scientist and UK Health Scientist of the Year 2012, and John Mofatt, CEO, Smart-ISO Limited in the UK.
In direct response to the challenges that the region has faced recently with regard to the delivery of quality health care, the FMS recognizes that the creation of a committed workforce for the health sector in the Caribbean is one of its major responsibilities. The Faculty also sees its role in bringing about needed change in improving health care in the region as one of its most immediate goals.
Registration fee is US $450 before January 18 and US $500 on site. There is also a special 20% discount for all UWI Academic Staff who register by January 11, 2013.
