The Faculty of Medical Sciences (St Augustine) Student Support Fund

The Faculty of Medical Sciences, St Augustine started in 1989 with fewer than 100 students. Today, 24 years later, the Faculty boasts close to 2,000 students. The demand for places in Medical Sciences has resulted in the student population outgrowing the physical resources of the Faculty. Financial constraints have precluded adequate build out, but the proposed Students’ Study and Recreation Centre is currently under construction. The Student Support Fund is responsible for finding creative ways to raise funds for its completion as well as to undertake other necessary projects.

The Autistic Society of Trinidad & Tobago

ASTT is a Non-Governmental Organization whose mission statement is: “To work together with families to help all individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders to achieve their fullest potential through education, training and advocacy for affordable and appropriate quality services.”

 Persons Associated with Visual Impairment

PAVI was founded with the main focus of advocacy through lobbying for the rights of persons with visual impairment, i.e. the right to sight; the right to equal and inclusive services; the right to a livelihood and the right to a safe and secure environment. It works closely with the Diabetes Association of Trinidad & Tobago and other relevant NGOs.
