Crazy For You! Theatre within theatre! A story of how theatre can save a community in distress

ST. AUGUSTINE, Trinidad and Tobago – What happens when the heir to a New York banking company who secretly dreams of life on stage is sent to Deadrock, Nevada, to foreclose on the tiny town's only theatre? He falls in love with the theatre owner's daughter and tries to save the town by producing an extravagant show! Must Come See Productions (MCSP) presents the Gershwin comedy classic Crazy for You for the nation’s theatre-going public. Crazy for You will be at Queen’s Hall for one week only: Thursday 4th to Sunday 7th July, 2013. 

Crazy for You features a talented cast and crew including Cacique award-winning actress Kendra Sylvester-Flores as cowgirl Polly Baker and newcomer Isaiah Alexander as Bobby Child, a New York wannabe actor. UWI theatre students Kimberly Jones and Anton Brewster (both seen in MCSP’s 2012 production Hairspray) act as Irene, a New York socialite and Lank, a cowboy entrepreneur, respectively.  Michailean Taylor, a UWI Theatre Arts graduate, acts as the playboy impresario Zangler.

Cacique award winner and theatre queen Debra Boucaud-Mason makes her debut directing musical theatre for MCSP while Cacique award winner Jessel Murray will conduct the live band accompaniment. Murray, the head of the Department of Creative and Festival Arts (DCFA) at The UWI St. Augustine, has just conducted the smash performance Carmina Burana with The UWI Arts Chorale and UWI Percussion at NAPA. Other members of the all star artistic team are Cacique award winning choreographer Adele Bynoe assisted by Dr. Jorge Morejón of The UWI, scenic designer Dara Jordan-Brown and costume designer Andrew Seepersad (Rent). The team is rounded off with make-up designer Steven Taylor, lighting designer Knolly Whiskey, sound designer Treldon Thompson and the dual stage management of Donna-Marie Bertrand and Asha Stewart.

With memorable Gershwin tunes like "I Got Rhythm," "Nice Work if You Can Get It," "Embraceable You" and "Someone to Watch Over Me," this high-energy, Tony Award-winning comedy includes mistaken identity, madcap mishaps, plot twists, fabulous dance numbers and promises to  a be riotously entertaining dazzler for the whole family -- not to mention sophisticated bacchanal!
