UWI questions, is the Global Food Crisis a new Security Dilemma?

The University of the West Indies (UWI) St Augustine Campus will host a debate by students of the Institute of International Relations (IIR) titled ‘The Global Food Crisis: A New Security Dilemma?’ on Monday 10th and Tuesday 11th November, 2008.

The debate will be held in Lecture Room 1 at the Institute from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on both days. This event is free and open to the Public, but seating is limited.The debate will be presented by MSc students of the Institute and will investigate the ongoing food crisis by debating the issues and implications for small developing countries and the response of the developed world and international community. Students of Bishop’s College and Trinity East College have been specially invited to observe.
