Seminar on Biological Cancer

On Thursday 4th December, 2008, The University of the West Indies (UWI), Faculty of Medical Sciences in partnership with Best Doctors, Inc., the trusted resource to patients and physicians in developing the right diagnosis and the right treatment, will host a seminar entitled “Progress in Cancer Care - Diagnosis and Management” .This event will begin at 12.00 noon and is carded to take place at Amphitheatre B, Faculty of Medical Sciences, Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex Mt. Hope.

Derek Raghavan MD PhD, a Best Doctors Expert and Chair of the Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cancer Center will be the key speaker at the seminar.Dr. Raghavan will be assessing and disseminating the latest advances made in the field of biological cancer. The seminar will also evaluate the late effects of cancer treatment on patients.

Dr. Raghavan has produced approximately 300 scientific papers and has edited nine books. His clinical research focuses on genitourinary cancer, cancer in the elderly, anti-cancer drug recovery and development, and comparative human oncology. He has been elected a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and served on the editorial boards of numerous medical journals.

This seminar is free and open to all members of the general public. Limited seating is available so reservations should be made.
