ST. AUGUSTINE, Trinidad and Tobago. Thursday 7th July 2022 – Prospective Undergraduate and Postgraduate students are invited to The St. Augustine Campus of The University of the West Indies (The UWI) for a 3-day Open Day beginning on July 8 to 10, between 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m.
Principal, The UWI St. Augustine Campus, Professor Brian Copeland, promises a fascinating programme being laid on for visitors. This includes an Expo-style Faculty Booth set up in the JFK Quad; scheduled Faculty Information Sessions every 45 minutes in the JFK Lecture Theatre; and an on-site Application Centre in the JFK Auditorium with advice on how to fund studies. Faculty representatives will also be present to share information on how degree programmes can foster personal growth, enhance your professional skills and increase your chances of career advancement.
President, Guild of Students, Kobe Sandy urged persons considering higher education to attend. “Prospects should come to not only receive career guidance but also to witness the many opportunities that are available as a student in terms of financial support, student support and most certainly to behold all of the activities and programmes that are available to make the student experience unforgettable,” he stated.
The Open Day offers an opportunity to gain insight into the on-campus experience after being dormant for over two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Visitors can look forward to a special Open Day offer from KFC, Moussies Ice Cream, sno cone from the Campus’ iconic vendor (Leroy), local cuisine from Celeste & Sons aka Tiny’s and more.
The Faculty of Food and Agriculture booth will also give visitors an opportunity to interact with rabbits and visitors can look forward to viewing aquatic and herbarium displays from the Faculty of Science and Technology.
