UWI-75 Cricket Fest Celebrates 75 Years with a Bat, Ball & Boundless Spirit!

St. Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago. October 6, 2023 – The University of the West Indies (The UWI) continues its 75th Anniversary celebrations with the highly anticipated UWI-75 Cricket Fest sponsored by UNICOM. The general public is invited to partake in an exciting day of cricket and entertainment. Join us on Saturday, October 7, 2023, between 3 pm and 7 pm at the Sir Frank Worrell Ground, located within the Sports and Physical Education Centre (SPEC) in St. Augustine.

 In 2003, the completion of the UWI Sport & Physical Education Centre (SPEC), along with the upgrade of playing facilities to international standards in 2007, set the stage for numerous cricketing spectacles at the venue. The matches that will be played this weekend include:

 Cricket Matches:

 UWI Women's Cricket Club Invitational Team vs. Phoenix Women's Cricket Club (TTWCA Women's Premiership Champions 2023)

UWI Men's Invitational Team vs. UWI T20 All Stars

In addition to secure parking on campus, The UWI-75 Cricket Fest offers a wide range of engaging activities for attendees to enjoy including bouncy castles, face-painting, exciting contests and a chance to win enticing door prizes and giveaways. Food and beverages are available for purchase and attendees are allowed to bring coolers (maximum size of 12x12x18 inches), although glass items are prohibited.

 Tickets can be conveniently purchased at SPEC and at the gate.

 Admission:

 General Public: $60

UWI Student/Staff: $20 (Must display UWI ID)

Children 12 and under: Free
