St. Augustine Academy of Sport Honours Pioneering Graduates at Inaugural Awards Ceremony

St. Augustine, December 8, 2023 – The Inaugural Awards Ceremony of the St. Augustine Academy of Sport (SAAS) occurred on Monday, November 20th, 2023, commemorating the graduation of its pioneering cohort. Held at The UWI SPEC, St. Augustine, the ceremony recognized not just academic accomplishments but also set the groundwork for a lasting legacy of excellence in sports education.

 Dr. Anand Rampersad, Head of the SAAS, remarked, "This historic occasion commemorates the triumphs of our inaugural cohort of BSc Sport Kinetics program graduates. The scientific study of sports plays a pivotal role in equipping our athletes to achieve greatness. I challenge our graduates to utilize their knowledge to positively impact every echelon of the sporting community."

 The Faculty of Sport commends the dedication, sportsmanship, and resilience exhibited by each student throughout their academic tenure. Graduates like Kirsten St Omer (First Class Honours), Nand Sookhan, Britanny Mahabir, Vinaya Boodram, and Clayton Knott have not just showcased their abilities but have set themselves apart as future leaders in the sports industry.

 The St. Augustine Academy of Sport remains committed to changing the world of sports education and creating a lifelong impact of innovation, leadership, and excellence in the sports industry through strong academic programs, teamwork in research, and mentorship opportunities.
