ST. AUGUSTINE, Trinidad and Tobago. March 22, 2024 – The University of the West Indies Blood Donor Foundation (UWIBDF) invites the public to the return of the "UWI Blood Drive" in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the North Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA) and the Leadership Council. This milestone 30th Voluntary Non-Remunerated Blood Drive is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 23rd, 2024, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Mount Hope Blood Bank within the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex.

The UWIBDF, driven by its mission to raise awareness about the critical importance of blood donation and utilization in Trinidad and Tobago, continues its valuable work with events like this. By promoting a culture of voluntary non-remunerated blood donation (VNRD), The UWIBDF aims to encourage regular donations free from external pressures. At their previous blood drive, the UWIBDF collected 81 voluntary pints of blood. This time, their target is to surpass 100 pints, and they need your invaluable support to achieve this milestone. To minimize waiting times, early attendance is encouraged.

"Be the heartbeat of hope" by seizing the opportunity to save lives. Donors will not only have the chance to contribute blood but also gain access to essential health services including blood pressure screening, blood glucose testing, BMI assessments, and general health information.
