The horizon is expanding for women in sport with significant opportunity to forge a career path. I am very proud as a staff member of The UWI whose core values includes Gender Justice to achieve this milestone.” Regarding her experience as manager during the recently concluded championship she stated, “I felt right at home with the male cricketers. It was somewhat of a mini-West Indies team interacting with persons across the region. Every player was respectful, highly enthusiastic and brought their best. It's clear we've got some of the brightest cricket talents right here in the Caribbean."

Mrs. Dwarika-Baptiste's appointment exemplifies her ongoing dedication to cricket development in the Caribbean. Dr. Anand Rampersad, Head of the St. Augustine Academy of Sport, Faculty of Sport, commented, "Mrs. Dwarika-Baptiste’s leadership and dedication have been pivotal in elevating our cricket program.
