Student Innovators Futureproof Science for a Resilient Tomorrow: UWI FST Sci-Fest 2025

 On March 13, 2025, The University of the West Indies (The UWI) proudly hosted, Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) Sci-Fest 2025, themed "Futureproofing Our World - Science for a Resilient Tomorrow." This exciting one-day event took place from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. across various venues, including the JFK Quadrangle, LRC Greens, Natural Sciences Building, Chemistry Building, and Herbarium.

 

 

Students from Tranquillity Secondary School visited The UWI, St. Augustine and interacted with a hands-on scientific apparatus at FST Sci-Fest 2025 on March 13th , to inspire curiosity and make learning about science fun and accessible

  Tailored specifically for our students, Sci-Fest 2025 served as a platform to spotlight research while nurturing an enthusiasm for science and technology. This initiative significantly bolstered The UWI's visibility and reputation as a premier institution in the fields of science and technology, while also promoting active community engagement in scientific research and innovation.

 The UWI Sci-Fest 2025 on March 13th, students at The UWI engaged in cup games with an Event Coordinator to foster teamwork and make science more interactive and enjoyable.

 

 The UWI, St. Augustine showcase the use of virtual reality to secondary students during the FST Sci-Fest 2025 on March 13th , to expand the use of technology in the region.
