St. Augustine, June 18th 2025 – From July 14th -25th, The Department of Literary, Cultural and Communication Studies at The University of the West Indies (The UWI), St. Augustine, will be hosting TALKTOPIA 2025 – A July/August Vacation (JAVA) Camp designed to develop skills in students aged 12 – 16 in a range of specialist areas.
The TALKTOPIA JAVA Camp will offer a fun-filled experience that will allow youths to engage in activities to develop and enhance their literary and communication skills that will contribute to their holistic development. It includes workshops and practical sessions in Public Speaking, Short Story Writing, Podcasting and Spoken Word. The sessions are designed to capture their interest and tap into their creative genius as they are guided by professionals in a safe, student-centred environment. All instructors are qualified and experienced in their fields.
All sessions for the TALKTOPIA JAVA camp will be held in the Humanities Building at the St. Augustine Campus from 9.00 am to 3.00pm from Monday to Thursday with exciting field trips on Fridays.
