About Cascade

A guesthouse in Jamaica’s mountains offers the ideal retreat for elderly friends who have grown weary of changes that have overtaken the city, and a plan takes shape to retire together. Against the development of the Home under its dangerously inept manager, unfolds a tale of violent intrusion and dislocation, of cold-blooded exploitation and murderous resentment. Yet it is also a tale of love, persistent humour and courage. Cascade recounts the poignant efforts of its main characters to connect against a background of social turmoil and the psychological effects of Alzeimer’s. Cascade examines the subject of growing old with sensitive honesty.
