The National Sinfonia invites all to have a Southern Christmas

The National Sinfonia, directed by Mr. Jessel Murray will present a Southern Christmas Concert on Sunday 16th December, 2007 at Naparima Bowl. Tickets cost $100.00 and can be obtained from the Naparima Bowl box office, members of the National Sinfonia or at the door on the evening of the concert.

The National Sinfonia, its fourth year of existence, and fresh from its successes in June (‘Oliver!’) and August (the acclaimed annual concert in Queen’s Hall) the Sinfonia will present classical favourites by Beethoven and the ever popular excerpts from the Tchaikovsky ‘Nutcracker Suite’. The concert will also include popular music such as Andrew Lloyd Webber: ‘A Celebration’ and a stunning arrangement of ‘Do You Hear What I Hear’.

Guest artistes include: Southern Songster and Music Festival winner Maria Mc Shine-Ransome, who will sing with the orchestra in favourites: ‘O Holy Night’ and ‘O Mio Babbino Caro’; Rellon Brown, from the Sinfonia, who will offer the Haydn Trumpet Concerto. To close off this stirring Christmas offering the UWI Festival Arts Chorale; will be joined by members of a combined choir from Presentation College; St Joseph’s Convent, San Fernando, and Naparima College for a grand choral finale!
