UWI welcomes new students with Orientation 2011

The University of the West Indies (UWI), St. Augustine Campus, inducts new students with a revamped orientation programme this year, entitled “Welcome to UWI.” It will take place from Monday 15th August to Wednesday 14th September, 2011.

Through this new multiple-event programme, incoming students will gain an all-round view of what they can expect from The University. It aims to assist students with their transition to university life, as well as to help them manage their lives throughout their UWI careers, by addressing four distinct categories: UWI Culture, Personal/Social Development, University Administration, and Learning Management/Academic Development.

The schedule of events for UWI’s Orientation 2011 is as follows:

 

Meet and Greet

  1. (Airport greeting for all non-nationals, both regional and international)
  2. 15th to 26th August

 

Campus Tours

  1. (Faculty Tours for all new first-year students)
  2. 22nd August to 2nd September

 

Check-In

  1. (Orientation event for all non-nationals, both regional and international)
  2. 27th to 28th August

 

Welcome Home

  1. (Halls of Residence orientation events)
  2. 29th August to 1st September
