The Institute of International Relations at The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus, hosts a Distinguished Lecture by Professor Anthony Maingot, Professor Emeritus of Sociology at Florida International University in Miami, Florida, on Wednesday 21st September, 2011, from 5-7 pm, at the Faculty of Engineering, Lecture Theatre 1.
Professor Maingot will deliver his lecture on the topic, "The Cuba-Venezuela Geopolitical Alliance: Implications for the Region."
Among those specially invited to this Distinguished Lecture are members of the Diplomatic Corps, the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Organisation of American States (OAS), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and students of The University’s Faculty of Social Sciences and post-graduate students.
This lecture is free and open to the public.
