The University of the West Indies, under the auspices of the Open Lectures Committee, hosts the second in its four-part series of Conversations with Prime Ministers, featuring former Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Mr. Basdeo Panday. This event is carded for Thursday 26th January, 2012, at 5.30 pm, at the Daaga Auditorium.

During this conversation, Mr. Panday will share his views on the independence experience, his stewardship as Prime Minister, his vision for the future and related matters. He will also answer questions from the audience.

The Conversations with Prime Ministers are an integral part of The University of the West Indies’ commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the independence of Trinidad and Tobago. The first in this series was held in November 2011, and featured former Prime Minister and President, His Excellency Arthur N.R. Robinson. The University plans two more conversations – one with former Prime Minister, Mr. Patrick Manning, and the other with current Prime Minister, the Honourable Kamla Persad-Bissessar. They are scheduled for February and March, 2012, respectively.
