UWI hosts T-20 Knockout Championship - Final match rescheduled!

The St. Augustine Campus of The University of the West Indies (UWI) is staging a T-20 Knockout championship, beginning on January 26th, 2012. The competition will involve 16 teams, including the top ten cricket teams in Trinidad.  

Leading the charge will be the Queen’s Park team, which won all three national competitions in 2011. Other teams include Merry Boys, PowerGen, Comets, Moosai, T&TEC, Central Sports, Preysal and Bamboo. Club Crusoe will represent Tobago while the universities will be represented by The UWI and UTT. The final team, Super Force, will put some of the best players from the Zones on display.  

The opening ceremony will take place on January 26th, at 6.25 pm, at the UWI SPEC.

All 15 matches will be played at the Sir Frank Worrell Cricket Ground at UWI SPEC under lights. Matches begin at 7 pm. The competition will be played on Thursday and Friday nights and substantial prizes will be at stake, including prizes for ‘big sixes.’

 

Admission

Preliminaries and Quarter Finals:

  • UWI Students – $10 
  • General public – $20 

Semi Finals and Finals:

  • UWI Students – $15
  • General public – $25 

Free admission to all matches for children under 12 years old.
