About the Principal’s Research Awards<\/span><\/h3>\n

The Principal\u2019s Research Awards is an annual event hosted on campus since 2023 to recognize and celebrate, promote outstanding research excellence among faculty and graduate students.<\/p>\n

This annual event has grown significantly, enhancing the visibility of research of the St Augustine Campus of The UWI. With the intention of creating a culture of research beyond traditional researchers in academia, the research award categories such as Principal\u2019s Special Innovation, Hurricane and Earthquake Alleviation Research were created, inviting applications from the public, encouraging communities, school students, industries and civil society organizations.<\/p>\n

This high-level event on campus acknowledges exceptional research output, high-impact publications, innovation, and research aligned with national and global development priorities. Awardees represent a diverse range of disciplines, showcasing the university\u2019s commitment to\u00a0Agility, Alignment, and\u00a0Access\u00a0in research.<\/p>\n

These awards will be presented at the Principal\u2019s Research Awards Ceremony carded for 25 November 2026. All selected awardees will be invited to present their research at the Awards Ceremony.<\/p>\n
