What time does the relay begin?

The 1st runner will leave UWI SPEC at 5:15 a.m.

Will relay teams be briefed before the race?

Yes. All team members MUST arrive for a pre race briefing at 4:20 a.m. in UWI SPEC on the morning of the race.

How will team members be transported along the route?

Teams will be shuttled from UWI SPEC at 5:00 a.m. to their respective legs. Shuttles will return after the last runner leaves UWI SPEC to pick up all relay runners after each leg is completed.

What is the distance of each leg?

  • Legs 1 - 3 | 3.1 miles each
  • Leg 4 | 3.8 miles

Where are the RELAY MILE MARKERS?

Will a baton be used?

Yes. A baton will be exchanged after each leg.

Will each team be timed?

Yes. Teams will receive an overall time.

Does each member of the team get a bib?

Yes. Each member of the team will receive their own bib.

Do all members of the team receive a medal after the race?

Yes

Do relay participants win cash prizes?

Cash prizes are not awarded for the relay. The top 3 teams will receive hampers.

Do relay teams receive race packages?

Yes

Can I collect packages for other team members?

Yes. Whoever is collecting on behalf of the team must present a copy of each person's ID (it can be presented as a photo on your phone or a physical copy) 

Is the relay for a cause?

Yes. The relay was introduced as a part of the event to help raise awareness for our chosen cause. This year's cause is 'Youth Development Through Sport'. Proceeds from the relay will go to talented sports juniors towards their tertiary education.
