This meeting aims to encourage discourse on key economic issues facing the region and provide an avenue for the IMF to present information on its work in the region. In The Fires of Hope In commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of Independence in Trinidad and Tobago, the UWI’s Department of History hosts a 3-day international conference entitled ‘In the Fires of Hope: 50 Years of Independence in Trinidad and Tobago.’ This conference is designed to investigate all facets of the theme of Independence with emphasis on Trinidad and Tobago. It aims to generate new discussion on the changing realities of independent societies by gathering thinkers and academics involved in examining the economic, political, historical, literary and social aspects of independence from the nascent stages to present day. COTE 2012 The Department of Economics, UWI, St. Augustine, gears up to host its sixth annual Conference on the Economy (COTE). COTE 2012 is an annual landmark event of the Department at which findings from quality research and other studies are presented to inform our stakeholders on economic and social policy.
