This virtual symposium brings together a diverse set of experts in the field of gerontology to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on the ageing population in Trinidad and Tobago. The population of the Caribbean, like much of the rest of the world, is ageing and older adults are contributing their productivity, creativity, and vitality to society. International studies show that COVID-19 has impacted the wellbeing of ageing populations. However, little research has been conducted on the well-being of the elderly in Trinidad and Tobago. The symposium will focus on the challenges they face and their resilience.
