Among the first
Dr Dyanand Rajkumar (left), and Mr Anthony Farrell, two of the early alumni of the UCWI, attended the media launch of the week of 50th Anniversary celebrations at the Office of the Campus Principal. As she presented a brief outline of the St Augustine story, History Professor Bridget Brereton singled out Dr Rajkumar as one of the very first students to enrol in the new BSc Agriculture of the University College of the West Indies (UCWI). As a student, he took part in the procession at the Queen’s Hall event in 1960 where the Imperial College of Tropical Agriculture (ICTA) was officially handed over to the UCWI. He graduated in 1964.
