The Games bring together student-athletes from across the region in a celebration of sporting excellence, camaraderie, and regional unity.<\/span><\/p>\n

Featuring ten sporting disciplines, including cricket, football, basketball, lawn tennis, swimming, table tennis, hockey, volleyball and track & field, the event welcomes an average of 600 participants.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 2026 edition will be hosted in Trinidad & Tobago at The UWI St. Augustine Campus, with proposed venues including the National Aquatic Centre, the Hasely Crawford Stadium, the National Racquet Sport Centre, and UWI SPEC.\u00a0<\/span>

The 2026 UWI Games present a powerful opportunity to reinforce the University of the West Indies’ (UWI) regional identity and commitment to student development through a week-long celebration of sport, culture, and unity.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This competition creates meaningful opportunities for student athletes to interact and connect across campuses, fostering healthy rivalry, regional level integration, and lasting bonds amongst our Caribbean neighbours.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Mona Campus are the defending champions of these games and will be seeking to capture the title once again. The UWI Games will be held in Trinidad and Tobago at the UWI St. Augustine campus from May 21st<\/span>\u00a0\u2013 29<\/span>th<\/span> 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n

Echoing the tradition of the Olympic Games, the 2026 UWI Games will feature a symbolic torch relay that will culminate at the opening ceremony. The presence of the flame and the relay serve to transmit a message of passion being <\/span>reignited<\/span><\/i> and the enduring spirit of the UWI Games.<\/span><\/p>\n
