UWI Calendar July 2016 - October 2016Quest for Public Health The UWI St. Augustine Campus, Department of History, Faculty of Humanities and Education presents a Conference on Public Health and Society in Latin America and the Caribbean and The UWI Chancellor and former Director for the Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO), Sir George Alleyne will be the keynote speaker at the Opening Ceremony. The Opening Ceremony is open to the public and Sir George Alleyne will be speaking on The Quest for Public Health on July 6 from 6pm at the Teaching and Learning Complex, Lecture Theatre E. All are invited. The Conference takes place from July 6 to 9 and will address themes such as The impact of Ethnicity and ‘Class’ on public health; New Technologies and Procedures and their impact on the society ; Mental health and more. The deadline for Abstract proposals is July 6. Abstract proposals should be submitted to Ms. Nadia Laptiste Francis, Conference Secretary at ieconference@sta.uwi.edu.
