UWI Fete 2017 was held on January 29. Titled “Wanderlust – Taste of the World,” it drew a massive crowd to the Principal’s Grounds at St. Augustine for live performances from some of Trinidad and Tobago’s greatest soca, calypso and chutney stars. This year’s fete also treated partygoers to cuisine from all over the world. But beneath the splendor of this annual event, at its heart, is a mission.

UWI Fete is a vital tool to raise funds for student education. Hosted by the UWI Development and Endowment Fund, the proceeds go towards scholarships and bursaries for deserving students. And while it has developed a reputation as one of the most important events on the Carnival calendar, it has an even deeper legacy of contributing to the growth and development of the future leaders and builders of the Caribbean.
