Third EDULINK Stakeholder’s Conference

Lisbon, Portugal was the site of the Third EDULINK Stakeholder’s Conference, which took place on October 1 and 2, 2009. Dr. Azad Mohammed, Dr. Judith Mendes, Dr. Mark Thomas, Professor Andrew Lawrence and Ms. Joy Cooblal represented The University of the West Indies at the event. Themed “Knowledge sharing through the ACP-EU Platform for Cooperation in Higher Education,” the conference aimed to promote “higher education as a means of reducing poverty in ACP countries and regions” by encouraging higher education stakeholders to work together to assess the influence of EDULINK projects on poverty alleviation.

Approximately 120 delegates attended the conference, including representatives from 56 ongoing EDULINK projects, European Union affiliated agencies and external higher education institutions with interests in EDULINK
