Engineering students excel Internationally
ANNUAL PRIZES & AWARDS CEREMONY

  The Faculty of Engineering held its Annual Prizes and Awards Ceremony on Thursday October 29, 2009 in its new Lecture Theatre in Block 13, and at the same time formally opened the new facilities.   
Fifty-six (56) donors provided a total of 102 Prizes.  Of a total of 318 students, 49 graduated with First Class Honours, the highest ever in the Faculty.  The Faculty congratulates all awardees and wishes them well in the rest of their studies and their chosen career. View photos of the event...

Professor Clement Imbert listed as one of the recipients of the 2008/2009 Vice Chancellor’s Awards for Excellence. 

Professor Imbert The University of the West Indies (UWI) is honouring its best and brightest once again. The university’s Finance and General Purposes Committee recently confirmed Professor Clement Imbert as one of the recipients of the 2008/2009 Vice Chancellor’s Awards for Excellence. 
Professor Imbert, a graduate of UWI, is well known for his devotion to steel pan research. Since the 1970’s he has been deeply involved with the instrument and recently, he was a member of the team responsible for the invention and creation of the ingenious G-Pan. His involvement with pan is very hands-on and he is currently Assistant Manager of Birdsong Steel Orchestra. His contributions to furthering the development and longevity of the national instrument have contributed to the cultural identity of our Trinidad and Tobago.

Engineering Asset Management Emerges

From September 2009, The University of the West Indies will be offering an Engineering Asset Management Masters (EAM) degree. The programme will be offered part-time in the evenings over two years, or full-time over one year.
