About the Outreach Centre

The Outreach Office of the Faculty of Engineering was established in January 2007 to offer a variety of services to students (prospective and current), faculty and industry in its bid to meet the needs of all stakeholders.

It aims to:

• develop and strengthen the relationships between the Faculty of Engineering and industry partners
• provide career guidance services to secondary schools
• engage the services of the engineering alumni to advise and train student engineers
• inform students about internships and student exchange opportunities – locally, regionally and internationally
• arrange seminars and workshops to facilitate student development
• assist in the management of faculty events
• identify and refer students in need of counselling services
• inform students of financial assistance options, including bursaries and scholarships
