Regional School of The Arts

Regional School of the Arts is the Department’s long vacation programme designed to introduce participants to the Creative Arts.  For four (4) weeks, in July/ August, participants are introduced to:

Carnival Arts:             (Mas making, Calypso Writing and Performance, Pan Music).
Visual Arts:                 (Textile Design, Sculpture, Drawing and Painting).
Caribbean Theatre:   (Acting, Dance, Stage Management).
Creative Writing:        (Poetry, Short Story and Writing for Radio/ TV/ Stage).

While participants concentrate on their chosen areas of interest, the school organizes group activities, which are mandatory for all participants and are designed to encourage exchange of ideas across disciplines.  Every year, the school highlights the work of a Caribbean artist.

The School will be located, on some occasions, in other Caribbean territories. Participants should be 15 Years old or above.

There are no prerequisites for admissions beyond the desire of the participant to learn or develop already existing interests. Participants receive certificates at the end of the programme.
