From the Dean's Desk

Welcome to the Faculty of Medical Sciences at St. Augustine, Trinidad & Tobago. We are situated at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex and comprise the schools of medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, pharmacy and advanced nursing education.

Ours is the only Caribbean, medical school that offers the problem-based learning system. This modality of learning requires student interaction in small groups, supplemented by didactic lectures. [more]

A meeting of the Board/Faculty of Medical Sciences, St. Augustine is scheduled for Thursday 27 September 2012 at 1:30 pm in the Faculty Board Room. Faculty board papers will be available at: https://intranet.sauwi.uwi.tt/fms.

Please submit your Reports and Papers by Friday 21 September 2012.

Quality Care Conference 2013

The FMS will be hosting a conference entitled “Improvement in Health Care Quality and Delivery: Making a Difference” scheduled for 18th January 2013 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, and 19th January 2013 at The Learning Resource Centre, The University of The West Indies, St Augustine Campus, Trinidad and Tobago.

CAAM-HP Accreditation Visit
 The CAAM-HP Acccreditation Visit to the School of Medicine will take place from March 13 to March 15, 2012.

Photography Exhibition 2012
"Teaching, Learning and Research at the FMS". March 13-23, 2012. Hosted by the Centre for Medical Sciences Education (CMSE) in collaboration with the Medical Sciences Library (MSL). Venue: CMSE and MSL, Building 40.
