How Do I Rent Gown / Hood / Cap

GOWNS AND HOODS WILL NOT BE FOR SALE

Graduands may rent Gowns/Hoods from the University on payment of a deposit representing the full cost of the item(s). This deposit must be paid at any branch of Republic Bank Limited using the prescribed Gown rental deposit slip.  (View Sample here).  Please ensure that you collect the correct payment slip as it appears on sample.

PLEASE NOTE: CAUTION FEE REFUND CANNOT BE USED AS DEPOSIT ON ACADEMIC DRESS.

Note: Total refunds will be disbursed only when garments are returned to the university in good condition. Refund cheques would be made payable to the graduand only.

*Yearbook Fee - applies to undergraduate graduands from St Augustine Campus only - COMPULSORY AND NON- REFUNDABLE

DELIVERY OF GOWNS & HOODS

Gowns and Hoods will be distributed at the:

Main Conference Room, 2nd Floor
Student Administration Building,
# 8 Lewis Avenue,
The University of the West Indies,
St. Augustine,

Monday 08th October 2012 to                      9.00 am to 6.00pm    
Friday 12th October 2012                   

Saturday October 13th 2012                        10.00 am to 4.00 pm

(Please pay close attention to times indicated, as gowns will not be delivered outside of these times).

Gowns/Hoods should be collected by the graduand only, as it is necessary to fit the gown to ensure that you have the correct size.

GRADUANDS MUST PRODUCE THE STAMPED COPY OF THE BANK DEPOSIT SLIP IN ORDER TO COLLECT THE GOWN AND HOOD.

GRADUANDS SHOULD NOT LAUNDER GOWNS/HOODS AS THEY WILL BE CLEANED PRIOR TO DISTRIBUTION.

RETURN OF GOWNS AND HOODS

Graduates are asked to return the rented Gowns and Hoods to the Main Conference Room in the Student Administration Building by Monday November 05th, 2012 from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm. 

Penalties will be applied for persons returning gowns after the stated deadline.

After Monday November 05th 2012, Gowns must be returned to the Examinations Section, in the Student Administration Building.

Your refund cheque will be available from the Main Conference Room, 2nd Floor in the Student Administration Building and can be collected upon return of Academic Regalia from October 30th, 2012.  You are reminded that the white slip (Gown Rental) must be presented when collecting the cheque.

GOWNS AND HOODS must be carefully examined before receipt as on return they will either not be accepted in a damaged condition, or if accepted, a penalty fee will be charged.
