Qualification and Experience 

The successful candidate must possess:

  • DVM or equivalent with post-graduate degree preferably or Ph.D. in Small Animal Internal Medicine
  • Considerable experience in Small Animal Internal Medicine practice and teaching experience

Board Certification (ECVIM/ACVIM) or Board eligibility would be an advantage

Any of the following academic and professional experience would also be an advantage:

 

  • Recommended experience in teaching and research at the tertiary level
  • A track record of, original and innovative work; high quality publications in peer-reviewed international journals
  • Corporate membership in a reputable professional institution
  • Active engagement in industry
  • Proven success in grant applications

 

Special Responsibilities 

  • Providing leadership of the Small Animal Internal Medicine Unit within the School of Veterinary Medicine and encouraging the future development of the Unit and the School
  • Providing very strong advocacy for the School at all levels
  • Creating and maintaining positive and productive relationships with local private and public sector stakeholders as well as regional and international agencies
  • Fostering intra/inter Faculty/Campus teaching and research networks
  • Attracting external research and development funding
