After a worldwide search, Professor Clement K. Sankat was recommended in late 2007 to fill the post of Principal of the St. Augustine Campus of The University of the West Indies (UWI). The recommendation was approved by University Council, and became effective on January 1, 2008. Professor Sankat replaced Interim Campus Principal Professor Bridget Brereton.
