The Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social and
Economic Studies (SALISES) was established in August,
1999 as a research and graduate teaching institution. It
provides an integrated teaching and research program in
the following areas:
- Social Development Policy (including
Human Resources Development );
- Governance and Public Policy;
- Economic Development Policy and Management;
- Integration Theory and Practice.
The Institute focuses on issues relevant to small
developing countries operating within a dynamic
international environment.
The Institute is also offering the MPhil and PhD
degree programmes from the academic year 2001-2002 at its
three branches Mona (Jamaica); St. Augustine (Trinidad
and Tobago) and Cave Hill (Barbados).
