On Campus Accommodation
About the Halls
Make yourself at home in one of our five Halls of Residence.
Milner, Trinity and Canada Hall are all located on the Main Campus. These Halls are all within walking distance from classes, faculty buildings, the campus food court, as well near major North East Trinidad traffic routes - the Eastern Main Road, the Priority Bus Route and the Churchill Roosevelt Highway.
The Joyce Gibson-Inniss Hall is located near the Mount Hope Medical School & Complex. This Hall is for students from the Faculty of Medical Sciences only.
Our newest hall, the Sir Arthur Lewis Hall of Residence is located a short distance off-campus. Shuttles are assigned to service this hall to ensure its residents easy access to campus.
The multi-ethnic and diverse cultural heritage of our residents create a rich social experience as learning is exhibited at the various hall activities including hall concerts, annual dinners, sporting events and other formal and informal gatherings.
How to Apply for University Accommodation
To apply for hall accommodation please find the online application link below.
Due to limited space, all students interested in applying for on-campus/hall accommodation should not wait until they receive university acceptance. Prospective students should apply to the hall of their choice when applying to The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine.
Prospective students applying for hall accommodations are required to pay a $1,250 caution/reservation fee with their application form. Payment of the caution/reservation fee must be paid online via the campus website or at the Cashier, UWI, St. Augustine. This fee/amount must not be combined with the UWI application fee.
If payment is made at the Cashier, a scanned copy of the receipt must be sent via email to UWIHalls@sta.uwi.edu along with other supporting documents.
Prospective students who no longer require on-campus accommodation may request a refund of the precautionary deposit through the Office of Student Advisory Services.
Prospective students are asked to note that the University cannot guarantee accommodation. An offer of entry to a faculty on ANY campus gives no assurance of accommodation in a hall of residence.
