From its inception, Republic Bank has collaborated and fully endorsed the WoW programme, as the bank believes in the work of the University in preparing its students to effect change not only within their lives, but also in their communities and in the region. RBL understands the value in developing the career potential of students who will be graduating and transitioning into their careers in the world of work.
Republic Bank has committed to contributing toward the development of our final year students, through education and through entrepreneurship, via the pillars of the World of Work Programme, its events, seminars, workshops and activities to promote self-sufficiency, development and hope for the future amongst our students.
We help students to become the distinctive UWI graduate; one who is a critical and creative thinker, problem solver, effective communicator, team player and leader. By participation in these programmes, students are likely to become more competent, information technology skilled, and socially and culturally responsive.
The Careers, Co-curricular and Community Engagement Department of the DSSD focuses on skill development and providing students with well-rounded experiences required to help them adapt to life after university.
